Sandicor Summer Update

New Mobile MLS Access

Sandicor has contracted with iKenex to provide two new mobile MLS applications for our subscribers. The first application is a powerful and easy-to-use mobile MLS solution that runs natively on the iPhone, Android, and Blackberry platforms. The applications will take advantage of the GPS capabilities in the phones and will show the locations of the properties close by. These innovative apps will be available in Apple’s App Store, the Android Market, as well as a mobile browser-based MLS solution for all smartphones. The agent-only version is included with your MLS membership.

The second iKenex application is a mobile IDX application that agents can provide to their clients via the agent’s website. The agent will be able to brand the app to themselves much like their own IDX website.

Access Tempo from your iPad

As many of you may know, Apple’s iPad is a mobile media device and does not support Adobe Flash or full browser functions. However, Sandicor Tech Support is currently testing a product called “JumpDesktop” available from the Apple app store for $19.99. This app allows you to connect your iPad to your PC desktop/laptop and access Tempo and most other programs remotely through your PC/laptop. It is fairly easy to setup and requires a free Gmail email account.

JumpDesktop System Requirements – an active internet connection and a PC running any of the following systems: Windows 2K, XP Professional / MCE, Vista Business / Ultimate / MCE, Windows 7 Professional / Enterprise / Ultimate, Windows Server 2003 / 2003 / 2008r2. Windows Home and Starter editions are not supported along with Windows Terminal Services Gateway. Macs are only supported if you’re running any of the above operating systems under Parallels, VMWare or Bootcamp.

In addition, the new iKenex agent iPhone application will also work on an Apple iPad that has an internet connection.

Coming Soon

For Mac users or those that want to use another browser such as Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari, you will soon have the option to use an additional front end for accessing MLS data. MarketLinx has been working hard to develop a browser-independent option for their MLS customers. Known as Fusion, this new software interface, running on Adobe Flash, will access the same MLS data as Tempo and is being released for beta testing in July. We currently have 150 beta testers signed up and are looking to add another 25 to the test group. The test group will be performing various tests of the phases as they are released during the next 6-8 months. If you can volunteer some of your time to test the Fusion software, please email fusion@sandicor.com. The first 25 agents who respond will be added to the test group.

Remember, this is NOT A CONVERSION. It is an optional user interface for accessing the MLS. This means Sandicor subscribers will have a CHOICE of utilizing either Fusion or TEMPO when accessing the MLS database. For example, a subscriber can use a MAC or the browser CHROME at home to access Fusion, then visit the office and use TEMPO as they currently know it!

Realist Tax Data - now covers the entire State of California.
Walk Score – if your clients are looking for a home in a neighborhood where schools, restaurants, groceries, public transit and fun things are located within walking distance, click on the Walk Score icon on the Quick Links Button Bar of each active listing. Walk Score calculates the walkability of an address based on the distance from the property to nearby amenities. The results are provided in an interactive map format as well as detailed dropdown list.
Tech Support– Live Chat with Tech Support is now available! Look for the icon with Live Support ONLINE. In addition, if you feel intimidated making changes on your computer, you can now allow Tech Support to remotely connect to your computer to help solve your technical issues.
Searchable Knowledge Base – you now have the ability to search Sandicor’s Knowledge Base for Tech Support issues, Rules or Training questions.

Upcoming

Realist will be releasing a new version soon that will be more closely integrated with the MLS system. Based on Adobe Flash, Realist 2 will be Mac-compatible and browser-neutral.
